As the 4th largest tuna import market of Vietnam in the EU, Poland is a notable market in the first 2 months of 2024 with a growth rate of 786% over the same period, reaching more than 2 million USD, accounting for nearly 2% of Vietnam’s total tuna export turnover.

Over the past 4 years, Poland’s tuna imports have been increasing. At the same time, Poland is also a source of tuna for many EU countries such as Germany, Romania or Italy… Therefore, Poland’s tuna import capacity will continue to increase further and businesses can promote exploitation of this market.

According to experts’ recommendations, although the Polish market has not encountered any particular difficulties regarding technical barriers, businesses need to control the quality of exported goods to this market well. In addition, exporting tuna to Poland or other EU countries will still face difficulties because the IUU yellow card issue has caused the work of certifying and certifying exploited seafood exported to the EU to stagnate, businesses lacking domestic raw materials are also facing difficulties with imported raw materials.
