From November 18, 2025 to December 17, 2025, Taiwan will apply measures to strengthen sampling and inspection and not reduce the level of inspection for fresh or chilled radishes, headless radishes and other cruciferous vegetables used as food imported from Vietnam…

According to information from the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (China), the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has just announced the strengthening of inspection of Vietnamese vegetables exported to Taiwan.

Accordingly, from November 18, 2025 to December 17, 2025 (from the date of import), Taiwan will apply measures to strengthen sampling and inspection and not reduce the level of inspection for fresh or chilled radishes, headless radishes and other cruciferous vegetables used as food, with HS code 0704.90.90.90.2 (English description: Other Kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassica, fresh or chilled) imported from Vietnam.

The reason is that in the past 6 months, 3 shipments of these goods have failed to pass the quarantine and inspection procedures.

The TFDA announcement also said that before the above-mentioned enhanced inspection measure expires, if after assessment, it is deemed necessary to extend the time, TFDA will announce it on the agency’s electronic information portal and will not send a separate notice.

Since the beginning of the year, Taiwan has suffered many storms and green vegetables in general, and cabbages in particular, from Vietnam are currently one of the good export products to this market.

Based on the warning of TFDA, Vietnamese export enterprises need to proactively learn about Taiwan’s quarantine inspection regulations to control the quality of exported products, avoiding losses due to being required to destroy (or return goods) when import quarantine fails.
