Exporting 70 million denim garments per year
Vietnam’s denim apparel exports are showing good growth prospects with many large orders and many new investment projects to take advantage of EVFTA.
According to Balaji Enterprises (India), the organizer of the 6th International Denim, Knitwear and Sportswear Supply Chain Exhibition (Denimsandjeans), Vietnam has exported more than 65-70 million denim garments per year and this number is expected to increase by 2024, with large orders coming in and more investments being made to take advantage of the EVFTA.
Notably, Vietnam does not produce very low-priced products but specializes in the mid- and high-end categories with strong sustainability standards. In addition, the global geopolitical situation puts Vietnam in a very high position in this industry and is expected to grow more than 10% per year in the next 5-7 years.
In that context, the Denimsandjeans Exhibition will bring together major denim manufacturers from Vietnam and more than 10 countries around the world, introducing important innovations in production with a focus on sustainable development.
The theme of the show – “Room to Roam” implies that denim has enough room to continue to grow (roam). The theme also reflects denim’s ability to penetrate and spread to different segments of the population – going deep into people’s daily uses, and at the same time spreading values on the journey of sustainable production development.
In its 6th time in Vietnam, the exhibition will continue to deploy “Denim Bazaar” – an area for Vietnamese brands to display their innovative denim products, including recycled denim. This is an opportunity for visitors to experience and own high-quality products created by Vietnamese people. Thereby providing a deeper insight into Vietnam’s denim production capacity.
